Very dark. Brooding dark fruit with mint, menthol, plums, damson, a Chocolatey note. Very dark and vibrant still. Lean, with iron and excellent balance. For a 45 year old wine this is great.

Talula dinner with Butch and gang of ten 12/30/2023. What a surprise in its good condition after 50 years. That old leathery cab style that’s just amazing and paired so well with the beef cheeks and Branzino clams dish. (Original post wouldn’t show vintage of 1974, kept showing error code 2000)
