Big black fruit without being too tight. Sour cherries. This is Syrah the way it should be! Creamy and approachable! Tannins not prevalent- in a good way.

@David L what a wine young man - goose bumps all over and month cracking smiles for all of us - thank you Incredible bottle of wine. Nose was muted at first but after a couple of hours the floral scents came out. The palate was rich and concentrated bit not over the top. Boysenberries and other dark fruits were evident and the finish was long and lush. One of my top SQN experiences All smiles

On my list of favorite Syrahs! A beautiful dark magenta color. Blackberry tart cherry, floral aromas jump from the glass with secondary notes of pencil lead and sandalwood and hints of bacon fat and milk chocolate floating. Taste - a smooth creamy and richly structured wine. Blueberry and cherry fruits still dominate with pepper, crushed rock and tar following. The finish is long with lingering notes of bitter chocolate and espresso and a touch of heat on the end but overall flavors are well integrated. Should open up even more throughput the evening. Luv the label.

2 hour decant (decent fine/cloudy sediment). A brooding inky dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: blackberry, sandlewood, pencil lead, dark cherry, sweet floral, bacon fat, little milk chocolate. Taste: smooth, creamy, rich, full body wine with dark cherry, blueberry, pepper, river rocks, bitter chocolate, and an earthy tea long finish with a slight touch of heat. YUM...nice start to the weekend!

2013 Vintage. 15.7% Alcohol. Consistent with prior notes, better with air and last sips the best. Hold if you have them or enjoy after an extended decant.

2013 vintage Big purple monster that is still young. Best sips at the end of the bottle. Give it a few more years or time in a decanter. Will be a 10 in a few years.

Young, dense. At this point needs time in a decanter, but don’t pass it up if you get the chance to have it. In my opinion, Manfred Krankl is the greatest winemaker on the planet. I’ve never had one of his wines that I didn’t love. That being said, this wine, after opening up, has a nose of black fruit, bacon, and violets. On the palate, blackberry cobbler with a 2 minute harmonious finish. For fans of Rhône varietals, it doesn’t get any better. If you have it, wait a couple of years if you can.
