Armada is a cream sherry, meaning a blend of oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. Spicy oak notes lead the bouquet with secondaries of briny olive and toffee apple. It's certainly big and lush, with raisin and date notes lending sweetness to the sticky palate. The sugar lingers as notes of oak, nut and brine emerge here and again. Somewhat blunt and brash but a worthy example of the style.
