Pétrus Pomerol Red Bordeaux Blend 1978 (3000ml)

Only 4 years older than the 82 Mouton but much more evolved (probably due the Merlot). Absolutely hedonistic if you love the really evolved non-fruit flavors of old Bordeaux. Saddle leather, mouthwatering soft older cherry fruit. Would happily drink again but seems doubtful. I’ve had this bottle for quite some time.

Very tough to describe on the nose. Saddle leather, pine cones, sage, graphite and earth. Palette is compact and stretched out - meaning there is length and a continuity which is untypical for a wine of this age. I wish I tasted it blind, but I'm digging my very first Petrus. Bite me. Anne-Marie (my soulmate in the foreground).
