09’ Maybach Materium. The last few bottles of this vintage we’ve enjoyed. This took almost a decade to come around. IMO.. just in & out the last few years. Now it’s settled in.

A superb wine that is youthful and requires more age. Tannins are aggressive, but in time, will be perfect. Lovely overripe black fruits and maple syrup.

Thank you @Lee Lightfoot a stunning cab. Towering example of great cab hitting all the right spots with a 42oz ribeye. Dark blue black color. Aromas of camphor, cherry liquor, rose petals and graphite. This wine is kicking ass... it's not everyday I want a big Napa cab but with this kind of balance and class, why not?

I'm not sure of the make-up but I get a Bordeaux profile from this so I don't think it's pure cab. Very floral with hints of cedar on the nose. Dense dark fruit, licorice, tobacco. To my palate this wine has the closest flavor profile to TRBs own Rivers-Marie cabs. This was decanted 2 hours and probably could have benefitted from more. I'd say hold or decant 3+ hours for optimum drinking ....but it is a rich, expressive wine right now.

A bit of a hot impenetrable mess right now. Stewed tomatoes on the nose. High alcohol feel and a sharp finish. Only had a 2 hour decant. Will re-visit tomorrow night.
