For me it is “all that “. Like a fresh Selosse without bubbles. Sensory overload on the nose and palate. The level of freshness at this stage is amazing. A little of everything, oxidative, salinity , orchard fruit, subtle wood , that makes this a true sum of the parts wine. Acid for days .3 dimensional in the mouth with a never ending finish. The food match of the day with lobster and morels.

Shockingly good and amazingly fresh. Not what I was expecting.

1986 tasted 4/7/18 Tolstoy in a glass. It starts brooding and deep, but brightens quickly with brandy and spice. Intense and complex. Soaring combinations of fresh fruit and candied citrus peel, with reality-anchoring acidity. The oxidative notes are held in check by a myriad of flavors. Each sip is a new chapter, fresh nuances, new overtones. The only tragedy was when the bottle was empty.

Extremely good, but no where near worth the cost of this wine.

Tasted 4/1/17 Incredibly complex nose. Honey, Indian spice, candied fruit. Just the right amount of oxidation and acid to stand up to the spices. Beautiful integration, and a never ending finish. Unctuous and bright. Unripe stone fruit, lemon and herbal. Wonderful.
