Here’s the deal: Jadot, as a large negociant, sometimes gets the rep amongst us wine people that it’s not as authentic as the small, grower producers. The reality is this: their wines these days are every bit as authentic as any in Burgundy. And while they may not have the story of the small farmers, the wines are not only correct, they can be, at time, pretty fantastic. This particular wine is not fantastic. However, it is a very good example of Beaujolais-Villages and quite tasty. This vintage is darker in color and more dark fruited than some past vintages I’ve had but still, a Beaujolais through and through and more than hits the spot. I dig this and I can dig Jadot.

Medium purple in color. Strawberry, bubblegum, cherry and dusty notes on the nose. Tart bitter cranberry on the palate, not cranberry juice cocktail but raw fresh cranberry. Mouthwatering acidity initially overpowers the chocolate tannins but they make an appearance. There is a lingering cranberry and bitter cocoa finish.

Gamay grapes. No tannins. Not sweet. Not robust. Good with low key flavor foods. Ate pho with it.

I really enjoyed this Beaujolais. It was light with just enough fruit including some strawberry jam and maybe boysenberry. It is dry and has a finish that is better than its young age suggests. It went perfectly with our early Christmas turkey dinner. I will be focusing more on Beaujolais for turkey and chicken dinners.

Target 2018. What an Italian man recommended to us in Target before we liked wine. Really liked it this time! Winco 2019 - cheaper. Bear review: 8.7/10 cranberry and strawberry flavor, light feel in the mouth. Enjoy when you’re happy, not when you’re sad.

This is a great light red and it goes with a variety of foods. I'd compare it to a pinot, really. Also very inexpensive. Maybe $11 at Total Wine?

Bramble fruit, wild cherry, modest spice aromas; cherry cola and continued spice in the palate - good QPR #beaujolaisvillages for ~$10 at Costco.
