Baking spices, purple fruit, sweet, structured. I like it because it’s Foillard fleurie... but it lacks the ethereal magic of other vintages.

Insane spices on the nose. Confectionery cherry fruit. Smells like a Gamay cotton candy machine. Palate is ripe and explosive. Shows some of the 18 “lack of focus” but is pure and linear as well. Was more focused in 17 and I presume 19. Juicy and clean. Doesn’t quite have that ethereal, compact quality it usually has. Also a hint of funk/barnyard on the nose. Showing a tiny bit of heat as well .

Tons of fun and glorious. Don’t have ideal stemware but I think this is more “refined” than the corcellette. Great fruit notes and concentration with a silky mouthfeel. Violets abound in the nose for me and great fruit. Edits: this is lighter than the corcellette 2020 (it has more age) but similar winemaking styles. Makes me want to have more serious fleurie! But it’s different. This is more feminine, and makes me wonder if the corcellette would be even better with some age… This has none of the slight funk on the end of the bottle with the last 2020 corcellette I had (I had to hunt for it) tons of raspberry and light strawberry notes but the smoothness and silky ness truly is quite remarkable

Jolly rancher, haribo cherry cola. Sour aftertaste follows a very smooth, fruity front end.

This vertical confirmed my bias that Beaujolais loses energy with age. I’ve done this a few tines and the younger gamays shine with superior crunch, spice and energy.
