This wine is a grower not a shower. The steak I had with it covered up a lot but once it was on its own, it shined. A nice deep red this wine brings earthy dark fruit aromas with leather, tobacco, toasted oak. Flavor is deeply complex balancing tannin, acid, and heavy dark fruit (black cherry, overripe blueberry, and black currant) presences. Would definitely get again for a French or fancy wine night and pair with lighter fair like charcuterie or brie.
