The 2014 Léoville-Poyferré is one of the standout Left Bank wines of the vintage. Demonstrating outstanding clarity and freshness on the nose, this seems to just "leap" out of the glass like an over-excited Yorkshire terrier. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe tannins, silky smooth in texture, a perfect line of acidity and a harmonious finish that slips down the throat. This is going to be irresistible for the next 20 years. Tasted at the Léoville-Poyferré vertical at the château with Sara Lecompte Cuvelier. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2022)

Third wine in flight four for the Bordeaux Master's Class at Heart's Delight with wines from Saint Julien and Pauillac. Deep ruby core. Nose was coated with sweet spices, and dark fruits. Solid acidity and medium tannins (6.5/10). Medium plus bodied and mute. Dark and rustic, a touch savory, and earthy. Dry and mouth watering with a long finish. Drink till 2035.

Tobacco and bright red fruit on the nose. Earthy and rich on the palate. Moderate finish. Tannins are solid but it’s smooth! Well balanced!

First from a case. Classy animal with all structural parts there and an impressive nose but not showing it al yet. Witholding itself. Hoping for more the coming years!
