A wine of plush texture that evolves with air. Deep blue fruit. Still powerful structure. With an hour decant it was drinking great.

This is another tight, tannic, razor edge, unyielding wine (like the 2010and 2009) that merely dried out my palate with its stated 13.5% alcohol level (which also seems conservative given the effect on the palate). The drying effect on the palate, tightness and lack of any complexity make this very disappointing wine in the same vein as the 09 and 10.

Took about two hours to decant. Real nice balance. Lots of structure and huge alcohol. This one will age for decades.

Drank on 4 Feb 2017 in HK @ Pirata. Still young and quite tightly wound.

So good just got a case en primeur. Short finish, goose berry, mellow tannins.
