Ruby-red. Oak-spiced red berry liqueur, cherry, pipe tobacco and vanilla aromas are complemented by a smoky topnote. Sweet and pliant in the mouth, displaying velvety texture and plush black raspberry, cherry-vanilla and fruitcake flavors. Shows impressive depth as well as energy, especially for a hot vintage, and finishes with repeating cherry and spice notes and harmonious tannins. (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, April 2021)

At our gathering again last night we opened this 2009 Faustino I Rioja Gran Reserva. A blend of 92% Tempranillo and 8% Graciano. On the nose there was blackberries, black cherries, black olives, spice, tomato and earth. On the palate the was blackberry, black cherry, black plum, tobacco, chocolate, vanilla, oak, spice and loads of earthiness. This wine is full bodied with medium to medium + acidity and medium + mouthcoating grippy tannins that gives a long dark fruit earthy finish. It was so nice to spend time with close friends and enjoy some fine Tempranillo. Stay safe and healthy in the week ahead and we will see you again next weekend. Nostrovia!

Fantastic supermarked Wine. Got it for under 100DKK and that is a super price. 13 years old and extremely tasty. Great fruit all the way followed with spices like fresh peber as well as smoke. It will always land in my basket when I see it to the right price.

Medium to full body. It shows its finess after an hour. Smooth tannins, balance acidity with notes of spiced fruits, and hints of violets. Earth and tobacco notes are very mild. Enjoyable.
