A few wines from last week’s 4th Friday event! Fantastic! I think this is getting close to hitting a prime window (for those who enjoy a balance of fruit and secondary notes). Freshly squeezed blackberries, black currant, mulberries, and a touch of herbs de Provence upfront on a decidedly juicy profile. Dark cocoa, sweet tobacco and baked mixed berry pie notes.

Beautiful, stylish, very well made. Not a style I usually go for, but this was aligned just right. Sexy, rich, concentrated and filled with defined layers that melded very well. Such a strong vintage here.

Sexy nose and elegant palate. Dark cherries, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, black berries, cranberry, sweet spice, fine grainy volcanic minerals, medium tannins, red roses, understated and soft baking spices, sweet spice, perfect acid, balance, tension, length and a beautiful long dry finish.

The annual 305 Napa cab 10 year retrospective. So many amazing wines.

I am typically not a huge cab fan. This was delicious. Very smooth, nice body, lighter than some cabs.

Dark and deep purple color which is reflected in the nose and palate. Layers of crushed blueberries, Vassos. Notes of tobacco and some pencil shavings which give it another dimension. Tannins present but starting to round out a bit.

First off, delectable needs to update this location. La Cucina moved in after Roberta's closed last year, and is one of my favorite restaurants. Love this wine! Doesn't drink nearly as big as it's abv. Dark, meaty, spicy fruit, with gravelly tannins. Definitely new world, but right in the pocket as far as balance. Not a bad bottle to start off with this evening.
