Uproot Wines Grenache 2013

$46

The color is an enticing ruby red with inviting aromatics of strawberry and spice. Notes of candied raspberry and cherry burst to the forefront. The texture on the palate is juicy and smooth with velvety tannins. Notes of cherry cola, baking spice, and a hint of black pepper linger on the long finish. Pair with a vast array of charcuterie, roasted pork, and hard cheeses.

Medium body smooth and well balanced. Light garnet in color to the edges. Cherry and cinnamon on the nose. Cherry and baking spices with a decent finish. Smooth and light.

Rosy pink and limpid, with pink peppercorn spice highlighting the wine’s bright strawberry and tart cherry fruits. The alcohol is very forward and the tannins are modest, so overall the wine feels cleansing but far too hot. 86% grenache, plus syrah and petit verdot. 15.4% abv (sample)
