One of our "house" reds. Great value and very food friendly. We stock up when this goes on sale. Surdyk's $9 3/17

First review of Old Vine Lot 64. Blend of primarily Zin, with Petite Syrah, Syrah, and a small measure of old "Italian" varietals, like Carignan and Alicante Bouchet. I'm told the Bilbro's let the wines age in barrel until ready to blend, so come components were likely in oak for several years. This wine shows a youthful fruit profile alongside well developed tertiary notes. Nose is savory with leather, some tobacco and orange peel. Mouthfeel is thick with a solid core of sour cherry and medium tannins. Great QPR at $13.50 and a fine match with my too lazy to cook Monday

Easily one of the best BBQ wines I have tasted. Perfect for a crowd and plenty of St Louis style BBQ. Zin blend with Petite Sirah, Syrah, and mixed Italian blacks. 13.5% alcohol. Fruity, spicy, balanced palate with enough acidity to cut through a hearty BBQ sauce. At $12-$14 an easy purchase.
