Château Haut-Bailly Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2010

$224.99

98 Pts. Robert Parker. Haut-Bailly's 2010 delivers smokey, pencil shaving and cassis aromas with hints of forest floor. Extremely silky tannins mix with balanced oak notes. The wine is quite persistent with a lengthy finish. Best from 2017-2050

Big boy for Haut Bailly. Purported to be their best wine in the last 50 years. Highest elevation terroir in Pessac-Leognan. Probably under estimating this wine.

Had to order this. On the wine list at Antoine's NoLa, as Haut Bailly, 2010, for $75!!! The waiter didn't seem to understand that this was the 2nd or 3rd wine of HB. But at $75 for a 2010 Bdx, it was still a deal. Simple, uncomplicated, but still characteristic of Graves. All else at. Antoine's met expectations.

Excessively oaky and ripe. Unrecognizable as Bordeaux. A shame.

2010 is the real deal, best vintage of Haut-Bailly's third wine I have ever had. Precocious, focused, and very generous. This exciting little wine ($20) is ahead of its stature, sure to please!
