Upon release this was big & bold; now it's soft, elegant & the tannins of this Cabernet blend are silky not harsh. It has come into its own & is a true gem.

The second wine we had is this Bordeaux from St. Estephe. The nose is pretty prominent in dark fruit, heavy licorice, wet leaves and alcohol that blew off after being out of bottle for a few minutes. On the palate I get black cherries, licorice, black plum and a floral note I can't put my finger on. The tannins are smooth with a nice dryness but not big or over powering. A nice bottle but not as good as the first.
