It is the start of the weekend and I have opened the 2015 Chappellet Mountain Cuvee Proprietors Blend. The wine is 37% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Malbec, 11% Petit Verdot and 7% Cabernet Franc. On the nose I am getting black cherry, blackberry, black currant, bakers chocolate, molasses, asparagus, caramel, vanilla, clove and leather. Upon first sip on the palate the is jammy dark fruit of black cherry, blackberry, blueberry, black currant, a little heavy on the toasted oak and gravel. This wine is full bodied with medium + acidity and medium + rich mouth coating tannins that lead to a long lingering oaky dark fruit finish. With the cooler weather continuing into the weekend along with rain it looks like an indoor movie for me, but we will have to check out some other of my reds. Have a great weekend and be safe. Nostrovia!

Hey there chaps. If you're feeling chapfallen, then this mountainous cuvee could easily usher in a new chapter in your lives. One that even Monsieur Chaptal would deem a sweet choice. I tip my Chapeau to the chapt who made this Chappellet. Pairs well with Chapatties. I felt like a chapleted chaplain having ditched his chaperones and chaplaincies. Shows notes reminiscent of chaparral. So see your roving Chapman for a bottle worthy of being displayed on your chapiters!

A Bordeaux blend, the 2015 vintage has slightly more Merlot than CS. Fruit forward. Nose of black and red fruits, licorice, cassis, cherry cola, and spice. Supple tannins. A crow pleaser.

Medium purple in cellar lot with a nose of black cherries, blackberries, and vanilla with a hint of sawdust. I like it. Fruit forward with a slight kiss of sweetness. Very balanced and smooth with a nice lingering finish.

Juicy, unoak, soft tannin, delivate body. Will likely age beautifully. Nice on the fruit but would recommend to be patient so it can develop complexity

A classic example of new world Bordeaux blends. Heavy on the stewed dark fruits and spice. Needs more time in bottle.

36% Merlot and Cab, along with 3 other Bordeaux grapes. Really fruit forward being so young but great balance and finish. Especially like the vanilla notes.
