Williams Selyem Eastside Road Neighbors Pinot Noir 2013

$54.99

The generic cuvees from Eastside and Westside Roads are always the best buys in this portfolio. The 2013 Pinot Noir Eastside Road Neighbors has a similar dark ruby/plum color as well as loads of fruit, slightly more minerality, and more bulk to it, but is still similar in its suppleness and seductive lushness. Drink it over the next 7-8 years. Robert Parker

Killer stuff. Dried fig and raisin, plum, currant, black cherry, wild mushroom and earth. Accessible and generous from the second it was opened, developed into a perfect relationship between acid, fruit and tannin.

A very complex Pinot Noir. Interesting red fruit, floral and spice hints on the nose. Lots of cherry, plum and raspberry on the palate. Elegantly balanced with a juicy long finish that screams give me more! Russian River Pinot at perhaps it's best!

Barrel aged for 15 months (60% new and 40% 1 year old), sourced from four sites along Eastside Road: Foss, Calegari, Hunt Ryd, and Lone Oak Vineyards. Dark Ruby with black fruits and sweet spice. On the palate cherry, blackberry and ripe plum flavors with cinnamon spice and alluring soft tannins, still wrapped with nice structure. The finish lingers with a complex ending of cacao and earthy mineral tones. Nice! Tasting Sample!

Interesting to compare this '13 to the '11. This is much more Selyem like. Big Strawberry. Lighter in structure.

Savory Forest floor and portobello / hen of the woods mashup. Cherry like it should be. Classy oak. Yeah.

Very jammy and extracted. A little too much for my taste. Scent of cherries and raspberries on the nose. Deep black fruit flavors with some acidic notes in the background.

Soft, warm mature cherries. Too easy drinking, but who’s complaining?

Nice barnyard touch but very red fruited and fresh.
