Trimbach Alsace Riesling 2016

$15.99

Pale straw with green tinges. Lemon, minerals and fresh herbs on the nose and palate. Juicy and vibrant, delivering zingy, lemony bite on the long finish. Boasts lively but harmonious acidity that really extends the fresh citrus and stony flavors on the back end. Knockout entry-level Riesling. A good thing too, as this is Trimbach’s “bread and butter” wine, the house’s most important one commercially (at a whopping 350,000 bottles a year). To be frank, anyone who can make 350,000 bottles of an entry-level wine this good has simply unbelievable talent. Chapeau! Ian D'Agata, Vinous Media

Mineral and lemon zest on the nose. Acidic and dry with early ripening nectarine and peach. Long finish with nice tartness.

Not sure how my local shop still has the 2016 at $14, but I will not question and continue to scoop up. Sleek with petrol, chalky & salty minerals, lemons, and orange peel.

Bright and very forward with fruit; lemon, green and yellow apple, focused minerality, and persistence of flavors and acid for a minute! Overdelivers on price point in a big way

Nicely integrated notes of subtle rubber and honeyed yellow pear on the nose. Sharp acidity with a long lasting lemon, green apple and mostly grapefruit palate. Very enjoyable.

I will live and die by this QPR. Leunig’s in Burlington, VT has a wine list that leaves a lot to be desired but their dishes are always delicious and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, so at least they have this trusty Riesling. Went pretty well with the white truffle fries and bistro burger with foie gras and black truffle cheese
