Grapefruit with really a quite tolerable level of feral cat pee. Kind of closed, quite acidic and a little thin compared to the last time I tried this wine (forget which vintage, but loved it, so bought 3 bottles of ‘16). But there seems to be some complexity that’s either nascent or waning... or both...hard to tell. Hopefully an awkward phase in the bottle for a leaner vintage of this wine?... time might round the corners?

Silky, elegant texture. Mont Damnes is always a pleasure.

Not incredibly complex as far as aroma, but the structure was compelling. Barrel aging softened sharp edges, but there was enough acid to make the overall experience enjoyable.
