Tenuta San Guido Bolgheri Sassicaia Cabernet Sauvignon Cabernet Franc 2007 (375ml)

$145

The 2007 Sassicaia (Cabernet Sauvignon) explodes onto the palate with masses of rich, opulent fruit that caress the palate with gorgeous length and a seamless beauty that is hard to fully capture. Dark wild cherries, plums, spices, minerals and herbs develop in the glass. This is an especially bold, perhaps slightly uncharacteristic Sassicaia in its extroverted personality, but it is beautiful all the same. The inner perfume and sweetness carries through the long finish, where the sheer weight and glycerol of the fruit leaves a lasting impression. The 2007 is more than a worthy follow-up to the profound 2006... the 2007 is immensely appealing today, and should drink beautifully pretty much out of the gate... This is a superb effort from Tenuta San Guido. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2037. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Needs more time, but it is destined for greatness.

It is indeed an impeccably made wine. A top example of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is intricate and complex, it is a wine that is imposing and provoking. It is though, not the type of wine that I would drink, but that it is just my personal problem, isn't it? #sassicaia #supertuscan #bolgheri

Nice. Massive, tannins still prominent, could use 5 more years

Always so good. Such great structure with the perfect blend of fruits and minerals. Somehow even better when drinking it in Italy!

Air air and more air. Open this an hour ahead of time (or better yet - 2 hours). After that the bouquet is impressive and the mouth feel even more so. Hands down a winner.

Outstanding! Better than I anticipated drinking it after the 06 Ornellaia. Red fruit, spices, great balance, fine tannins. Second in a lineup of great wines for Christmas.

Just awesome. Opened a mag at 8 am for a 7pm dinner and boy was it good. Incredible fruits, great balance, polished tannins.
