Dark ruby red. Blackberry, with lots of fresh herb and meat character. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and loads of fresh fruit and tarragon. Dill flavors on the finish. Textbook Sassicaia that grows in the mouth... Wine Spectator

Everything you should expect from an aged Sassicaia. Still fresh, powerful and fruity but refined with a smoother and velvety finish.

Surprisingly light on its feet, yet with intensity enough to get my attention, this herbaceous and gently evolved version has sweet and more-ish tannins, juicy acidity and mid-weight stuffing. It ain't big, but wonderfully balanced.

A pretty wine with that textbook herbs and earth that is common in all of these wines a bit of peppery spice. Very smooth and silky sweet fruit with lovely freshness echoing that spice earth notes drinking very nicely but has the structure to age a bit more bit drinking so nicely right now it is hard to keep away from. Finish 45+ excellent+

The most memorable vintage of Sass for me. At the peak right now.

1997 vintage. Medium ruby hue. The nose is a delight. Earthy and black cherry with a meaty menthol overtone. Good concentration of aroma. Complex. On the palate, medium plus acidity and alcohol, medium plus ripe tannins and high concentration of flavour. Long finish. This is a masculine wine compared to the more delicate 1996. Possibly a few more years of ageing ahead of it. Drink now until 2023+

Tasted very young, despite being 20 yrs old. Nice balance and structure. Plenty of dark fruit and spice, very smooth tannin.
