Absolutely delicious, a Bordeaux style wine with Old World elegance and a New World sense of forward fruit. Very refined with enough acidity to pair with many foods and the sole, ripe tannins to make it enjoyable now or anytime over the next 10 years. Lovely blackberry, cassis, forest floor, violet with a bit on menthol in the background.

2016: Weighty and concentrated Super Tuscan Bordeaux blend (Cab and Merlot dominated). Still drinking young, with a bit more new oak in the mix than I’d like, but evolves well to the 4-5 hour mark to show deep currant, leather and iron. High quality, will improve over 2-3 years. $50 at JFW.

First bottle of wine at a restaurant! We wanted to try a Barolo, but they didn’t have any that were well rated so we went with the waiter’s suggestion. It went great with our veal and beef main courses. It opened up after sitting and tasted more and more like a Cabernet to me.
