The estate's 2007 Masseto is fabulous. Loads of black cherry, blackberry and cassis are intermingled with minerals, violets and French oak. This is an especially sensual Masseto that impresses for its clarity, intensity and length. The wine's pedigree is impossible to miss, in fact in one of my blind tastings it was immediately identifiable; the class and sheer personality of Masseto came through in spades... 1.5 hour decant(decent fine/cloudy sediment). A majestic dark ruby red color with a little bricking. On the nose: beautiful notes of plum, anise, smoke, vanilla, sandlewood, and a touch of tobacco. Taste: smooth, creamy, rich wine with a little black cherry, currants, mocha, spice, balsamic, toasty oak, and a long plumy graphite dry finish. YUM! Gonna be a wonderful Saturday night.
