A big, modern Brunello, with berry, cherry and vanilla character. Full-bodied, with round and polished tannins and a long, raisin and dried cherry aftertaste... Wine Spectator

Tasted blind and thought it was bordeauxesque. After it opened up it showed immense spice and dried rose petals.

Back to more classic style, perfectly integrated oak with cocoa, espresso, and warm sour cherry. Hints of acidity frame this so nicely, but it’s got that airy-smoky lightness that makes me think old Bordeaux. My WOTN.

In a good spot. Still has some freshness, strong acid. Red fruit and herbs just starting to turn a corner. Fine, integrated tannin.

This was an amazing wine. Really opened well right out of the bottle. Drinking super well for 20 years old. Could last longer but i wouldn't push it too far. Good nose and long finish. Very nice!

Raisins. Fruit is leaving. Soft tannins, slightly past it prime. Still very nice.

SOS. With it a port like aroma at the open. Once this blew off we had a soft, medium dry, rustic Brunello lacking a finish. That was 15 min in. 1.5 hrs later with a measured decant it opened up. Well rounded, finish extended and it hit its stride. Keep in mind this was a magnum. Very traditional Brunello and at 13.5 alc that would be a reach. Finished it today. Nice. I am curious to see the 2006 at 14.5 alc. curious to know what changed? Trappings of the current fad for more approachable new oak or just a statement to the vintage?
