St. Francis Winery Reserve Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

$39.99

...One of the most opaque purple-colored wines of the entire line-up, the wine displays notes of blackberry, cassis, chocolate and espresso roast, thrilling levels of concentration, a full-bodied mouthfeel, and incredible richness and length. It is another blockbuster from St. Francis...should drink well for 30 or more years. Robert Parker

Second bottle after the '10 Jordan at my celebration of life dinner. Much bigger than the Jordan with big-time bottom notes an a bit of blackberry but still doesn't lose the character of Bordeaux that appeals to me. I love the complexity and appreciate the way that it doesn't go for the easy appeal.

Big luscious red. Dark purple, full blue and black fruits. Enough acid and round tannin to support it all.

Drying, supple tannins. Nice acidity and verve. Floral/perfumed with licorice and dark fruit. So good now but will be better in another year or three.

Heavy tannins, yet still approachable. Good value.
