Blend of 94.6% Cab Sauv, 4% Merlot, 0.5% Petit Verdot, 0.4% Malbec & 0.5% Cab Franc aged for 24 mos in 50% new & 50% once-used American oak. Deep Ruby, aromas of black fruit, sweet cacao & complex spice. On the palate flavors of rich ripe juicy blackberry and cherry with oak, herb and vanilla notes. Nicely integrated firm, graceful fine tannins, long finish, displays primary fruits on ending, starting to develop some secondary aging, very nice. Excellent, Consistent quality, will age well!

$80 for this compared to $125 for Napa is a good deal, even if it doesn’t age as long. You’ll get your reward more quickly. I’m getting lots of twigs and wet bramble, cassis and mint. Medium bodied raspberry and super delish.

2016 vintage opened December 2020. Leather and minerals on the nose. Not much happening on the front—no fruit to speak of, but there are some soft tannins that follow through to the back of the palate quite nicely though. The finish is quite unique, though.Without looking at the label I suspect this was aged in American oak, which gives it some leathery hi notes and some bite as you swallow. I wouldn’t give it the scores that the pros are giving it, a 9.3, only because this wine is kind of weak on the front of the palate. But it’s very drinkable, indeed!
