Renato Ratti Rocche Barolo Nebbiolo 2007

$49.99

This thick, and darkly concentrated Barolo offers a wide range of aromas and evident complexity. It boasts a very polished, smooth feel in the mouth that is reinforced by the natural firmness of the noble Nebbiolo grape. Wine Enthusiast

Nope... They didn't nail the vintage. Fast evolving flavors, this was way more attractive a few years back.

Very smooth, and tannins are well integrated. Red fruit, dried herbs and fennel...nice.

Dried meats, evolves to dark cherries and fig. Certainly showing the warmer side of the vintage.

Clearly indicating the vintage conditions, as it's already evolved and showing a dried fruit profile. It might get more interesting with additional bottle, but my bet is to drink this wine sooner rather than later.

Lovely Barolo. 2007 drinking well. Decant and let it breath, you won’t be disappointed!

Maybe this wine just needed an extra few years in the bottle because this one is singing. Red fruit, plums, green cedar hedge from my youth, roasted meats, and yes, tar and roses galore - a lot going on. Sure, not the most robust Barolo in the tasting room, but a pleasure to drink and better than it was in its youth IMO. Feels like this has rounded a corner to even better things to come

Not really convincing. There is a quite bit of juicy dark fruit and sweet spices, but the tannins feel very dry and not smooth. A certain "unclean" taste overwhelmes the overall palate. I expect more from a "Rocche dell'Annunziata Barolo.
