A powerhouse, with verve to the finely cut, racy acidity, showing a sense of finesse and seamless integration of the firm frame. The silky texture carries layer upon layer of toasted brioche, currant and pear pate de fruit flavors, with notes of grated ginger and coconut, cappuccino foam and spun honey. Mineral accents of smoke, ground spice and fleur de sel build on the long, echoing finish. Drink now through 2032. Wine Spectator

Fresh and blanched and delicious. Hints of lime, stone, bright fruit. In a fantastic place right now with the benefits of age but still fresh. Long and complex

Minerality, some salinity, rocks, a hint of lime and a whiff of pear. Very good and still fresh

Celebrating another trip around the sun. This Piper Rare is medium straw in colour. Masses of ultra fine bubbles ( fine persistent mousse). Complex toasty aromas with a touch of gun smoke and flinty notes. On the palate Complex, Intense and Refreshing all at once. Chalky minerality with a saline note. Yellow fruits with creamy notes starting to take over the acid at 18 years. A blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Pinot Noir. An outstanding Champagne from a great year where the contents more than lives up to the bling of the packaging. Tempted to make a statement and give it 98 points.

This has really settled. Lovely sweet edges fruit. No secondary stuff yet but the same great balance as before with softer acid.

You know that craving you have sometimes for something very specific, and when you get something close to that you are disappointed because it doesn’t satiate your exact craving? This matched everything I was looking for. It was yeasty, toffee driven, caramel & oxidized fruit. The bubbles were minuscule and the mousse was extremely creamy. Lots of baked fruit/toasted aromatics and notes on the palate. This is drinking really well right now. Absolutely wonderful. Thanks @Mark Flesher

Wonderfully fresh and plush. Lime, steely minerality and a precise, long finish. Excellent.
