Patrick Piuze Côte de Bouqueyreaux Bougros Chablis Grand Cru Chardonnay 2014

9.11 rating on Delectable
$79.99

...exceptional, with more cut and mineral drive than the regular Bougros. The classic nose wafts from the glass in a youthful blend of pear, lemon, spring flowers, a very complex base of chalky minerality and a topnote of beeswax. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied and succulent on the attack, with a rock solid core, a fine girdle of acidity, outstanding focus and grip and a very, very long, transparent and electric finish. A beautiful bottle in the making. John Gilman, A View from the Cellar

Very pretty and consistent with the house style. I will say that I did not find it particularly Grand Cru. Never developed much length or complexity, though I can at least say it didn't feel manipulated and was a pure expression of Chablis. But 2014, I hoped for more?
