...a fine example and really a strong testament to the winemaking sure hand here... The bouquet is pure and vibrant, wafting from the glass in a youthful blend of sweet dark berries, woodsmoke, dark soil tones, cigar wrapper, espresso and incipient notes of tree bark. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and nicely balanced, with very good depth at the core (particularly for the vintage), moderate tannins and a long, youthful and very promising finish... I perhaps should have waited on this one, but still delicious nonetheless. Very musty, but not as harsh to the sip as the first whiff. Cherry!
