Domaine Eden's 2013 Chardonnay is subtle, poised and gracious to the core. Dried pear, dried flowers, sage, mint and chamomile grace the palate in this understated, exquisite Chardonnay. Hints of smoke, slate and dried pear reappear on the super-classic, expressive finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. Quite simply, the 2013Domaine Eden Chardonnay is a tremendous wine for the money. In 2013, the blend is approximately 72% declassified Mt. Eden juice and 28% wine from the DomaineEden estate proper. Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Still young for my tastes but checking in on a go-to producer. Killer with King Crab Salad sandwiches

A stupendous Chardonnay, the kind thats a shining example of what great CA chard can be. Slightly more advanced color than i might have expected, but the palate is full and rich with ripe lemon, a tropical note of passion fruit, and a very long mouthfilling finish. This is wide open for business and exuberant now -- I say drink up as I'm not sure the acidity or focus is there to expect much more improvement

MEV is a small estate located on a 2000-foot peak in the Santa Cruz Mountains and founded in 1942 by Martin Ray. Aromas of sweet stone fruits and honey spice. On the palate peach, sweet ripe apple and orange citrus with some nutty spice. Great balance with acidity sitting on a lingering finish ending with mineral tones. This 2013 is still young and a few more years will bring out the beauty of the wine. I'm putting a few bottles down.

Not sure what was better tonight between the wine, king crab legs or relentless Chuck Norris jokes. Chuck Norris tells Simon what to do.

Always one of my favorite CA Chardonnays. Layers upon layers of complexity and nuances. Superb balance and built to easily last another decade or more.
