M. Chapoutier Le Méal Blanc Hermitage Marsanne 1999

$169

A stunner... Revealing classic wood smoke, tomato leaf, orchard fruits, browned-butter and crushed-rock aromatics, it's full-bodied, classically styled, balanced and yet brilliantly concentrated and decadent. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

From magnum. Wow! First time having a white Rhone with this amount of age. I was just discussing not having an aged white Rhone like this yesterday, and then BAM, by sheer coincidence a friend brought this to a party last night. Beautiful yellow fruit, dry, with chamomile and marmalade. With time in the glass, showing slight oxidative notes, all in all, a great bottle with complexity.
