The 2008 Taurasi Radici Riserva Antonio is a one-off wine made only this vintage to celebrate the incredible life and influence of Antonio Mastroberardino who passed away in January 2014. The wine is made only with fruit from the Montemarano vineyard...This is a beautifully polished and sophisticated wine with a deep, dark color and an impressively silky quality to the tannins. The bouquet shows ethereal tones of dried earth, rose petal, tar, resin and cola. The 2008 vintage was especially successful...This is an elegant wine dedicated to one of the most passionate advocates of Campania wine. eRobertParker.com

Nice acidity, tannins and earthy fruity character. Slightly thick for aglianico and I expect it to integrate a little better with time in bottle. Hard to believe it needs more time at this age.

Bold and beautiful. This was my choice tonight for steak night. Really solid acidity and persistent tannin with bold fruit. What's not to love? Still going strong after 7 years!

Not my usual go-to, but this example took me down an unfamiliar path. The nose provides for a smooth entry with chalk, granite, exotic wood, cut flowers and cinnamon. Palette is taut and complicated with clean, bright cherries, earthy tones and a prolonged finish. The tannins are drum-tight which prompted me to search for some cheese - due to a slightly tart finish, which provides a perfect end note for the wine. This excellent aglianico will probably outlive me. Try it now and take another look 5 years from now. I'm sure it will have pretty much stood still.

This continued to evolve better and better in the 2 hours after uncorking. This is a beauty!
