I think the 2009 is very much in the same style as 1989. I love the 2009 Louis Latour Corton-Charlemagne's almond and cooked apple character with hints of mineral and meringue. It's full-bodied with a juicy fruit and cream flavors. Bright acidity too. It's intense with mineral and spice undertones. Drink now or hold... Always love to get my hands on a wine from Corton-Charlemagne. 2009 vintage has a roasted almond flavor with baked pear and bruised apple. Nice acid but the finish drops of a little early. Still. A great representation of the region and variety. This is what I grew up on.

Aged for about 10 months in French oak barrels (100% new), medium toasted. Golden color with aromas of bright stone fruits with a nutty touch. On the palate, rich fruit flavors with round oak notes, great mouthfeel. Full, well balanced finish with vivid acidity, lingering, ending with mineral tones. Outstanding! Will continue to get better! Tasting Sample!

Not a bad follow up to champagne. Flat out good. Judy should have more birthdays.

Say what you will about the need for oak for purposes of prolonged aging but, this is undrinkable for 10 years... And then who knows. I can imagine being great in my children's lifetime.

Creme brûlée, lemon curd, still has great acid and a finish that lasts ages! Drinking incredibly now.
