Beautifully crafted. Elegant, refined and complex, with a supple, polished band of anise, currant, black cherry and toasty oak, finishing with a long stream of flavors... 1,000 cases made. Wine Spectator

The first thing that struck me was the dark ruby color. Blind you would not come close to guessing its age by looking in the glass. A very cool nose of loamy notes , currants , berries and smoked meat. . In the mouth liquid velvet. Flavors of blackcurrants , nuts and earth that caress your mouth. Left overnight in the decanter and still going strong 24 hours later. Would throw into a blind Bordeaux tasting. @Marty Mathis

Another classic old schooler, drinking perfectly well that night and maybe the wine of the night for me. Easily another 5 very good years left in this one.

1997 vintage. Wonderful with plenty of life left. Blue and red fruits with cassis and some cedar undertones. Age is treating this one very kindly.
