...remarkable. It possesses an opaque purple/black color with no lightening or amber at the edge. A huge, exotic nose of sweet, toasty oak, smoked herbs, grilled meats, and black fruits soars from the glass. This lusty, powerful, classically-structured Cabernet reveals superb richness, full body, and a long, sweet, rich finish... Robert Parker

Still quite lively, great birth year wine. Supple tannins, hints of dark fruit, solid structure backbone and integrated aromas

From the ' 86 vintage and IMO the best year from the challenging 80's decade, chocolate-mint aromas with slightly earthy quality- no direct connection with Brett. , yet if present is well integrated . Tannins are resolved yet apparent and slightly dry on the palate. What surprises me is the bright acidity, seemingly high compared to Cabs of today. I would like less acid, however . In total, not bad for a 29 year old wine that still exhibits life, good flavors and qualities from its unique vineyard site.
