Joseph Drouhin Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2002

$349

Full medium red. Captivating, nuanced aromas of strawberry, minerals, meat and dried rose. Juicy and penetrating rather than fleshy, with strong acids giving definition, cut and lift to the flavors of sappy red berries, flowers and minerals. Offers compelling inner-mouth energy. The tannins dust the entire palate on the long, brisk finish... Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

You better drink this wine vintage if you have it - while opening it was very fresh and went down like water in the desert / tannins were so refined with exceptional length but at the end this amazing wine was was shutting down - I like it when the opposite is the case were the wine is brilliantly open reflecting subtle and evolving nuisances and creating interesting complexities - so an amazing burg at first but went bizarrely meek
