Jeff Carrel Les Darons Languedoc Grenache Blend 2015

$12.95

...looks like another great vintage here... This medium to full-bodied, plump, rounded, downright sexy 2015 has lots of blueberry, violets, and jammy black cherry aromas and flavors; it has terrific purity of fruit, good acidity and an overriding sense of elegance... Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

A nose of a well crafted, organic fruit popsicle. First sip tells me this is going to be another enjoyable wine from this producer. Slate plates, topped with a fruit compote that has been melding for a couple of days. Lip smacking acidity that shows this med touched fruit off as it is. Just the slightest hint of iodine, yet that could be from my dental implant uncovering.. Southern France has so much to offer, with well made wine, that showcase the terroir.

A blend of 75% Grenache, 20% Syrah & 5% Carignan with no oak aging. Pleasant big red fruit aromas with complementing spice. On the palate blackberry and cherry flavors, almost jammy with pepper spice and balanced acidity. Round tannins, medium+ length ending with a mineral finish. Nice value, a little more southern geography this would cost more $. Tasting Sample.

Good QPR. A well-balanced 80% Grenache with a derp, dark color, elegant with earth tones. Recommended.

Blackcherry jam, slight tart blueberry, dirty, slight leather, good acid, med tannins...really a tasty wine from southern france, zero oak, great price. Good by itself or with some food...

Hardcore berry, nicely acidic, medium bodied - opens up well with a long, strong finish. Versatile and a bit quixotic.

Really pleasant wine. Welcomed intermission in between lighter reds as we moved on into Bordeaux. Red fruits, long finish, juicy in a good way!

See my comments below. Just amazing: dust, earth, spices, pepper, toasted bread and a lot of black and blue berries. Melts on the palate. Magic!

Gun powder, spices, black currant, meat, leather and a pinch of tar. Soft tannins, warm, rich and fruity palate. Good balance, almost perfect, although my 2015 vintage seems to be on the declining trend.
