Il Borro Toscana Red Blend 2015

$49.95

This is the best Il Borro to date with fantastic blackberry, blueberry and sandalwood aromas that follow through to a full body with masses of fruit. Yet, it remains bright and linear down the center palate. A rich and toned wine. 50 percent merlot, 35 percent cabernet and 15 percent syrah. From organically grown grapes...Best in 2022. Fantastic and reasonably priced, rich and big-bodied Tuscan. Lots of wood and beef blood with a jammy component. Compelling nose of brambly dark red fruit. Leather all about, which shouldn’t surprise anyone in a wine made by Ferragamo... I’d give this a year or two to sort out, score likely to improve. Cipriani @ Wynn LV (which Foursquare couldn’t find, I hate that app)

Excellent Bordeaux blend with Syrah, with a rich Bordeaux flavor followed by a spicy finish from the Syrah.

2015. Red to blue fruits, leather, subtle acid and not-so-subtle oak come together after 3-4 hours of decanting. Young and more oak than I’d like but concentration of high-quality fruit and evident complexity should make this a knockout in 2-4 years. Ferragamo’s merlot/cab/syrah super-Tuscan project. $40 at Vine Republic.

Beautiful super Tuscan from the Salvatore Ferragamo family. A blend of merlot, cab sav, and syrah. Big dark fruit, tobacco and vanilla with some chewy tannins. Need to stock up on this at $50!!!

Smooth, dark fruit, balanced tannins. Excellent with red meat or drink by itself.
