Harlan Estate Napa Valley Proprietary Red Blend 2010

$1475

The 2010 Harlan Estate is magnificent. One of the very best wines I have ever tasted at Harlan, the 2010 brings together richness and volume, but with a level of energy and sheer precision I don't think I have ever seen in a young Harlan Estate. Layers of deeply expressive dark red/black fruit, cloves, menthol and new leather flesh out in a seamless wine endowed with stunning balance and class. Iron, melted road tar, tobacco and incense add shades of complexity on the finish. The 2010 has turned out even better than I had originally expected. Today it is epic. Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

Fine plums and sweet ripe black berries. Expressive, fine tannins, great length, beautiful, concentrated yet fresh

Always a treat to taste HE. A baby right now (2/2015) but will be amazing in 10+ years.

Massive Oak very opulent – overbaked. I guess that's why people purchase these. Not really my style.

Evolving as its in the glass. A meal in itself but you can't argue with its pedigree or layers of flavors it gives you. Outstanding!

Could quite possibly be one of the most over-rated wines out there, monolithic, brutish, only a few tastes and not a bottle so maybe more time needed?

I like 2010 Napa, and this is no different. Great to have it from bottle after so many times from barrel

The nose alone was amazing. The wine itself was delicious. WOTN for the ones we brought and only exceeded by the 1990 Haut Brion which I did not get a photo of - but did try!
