Frederic Esmonin Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2005

$185

A highly complex nose of wood spice, earth, truffle, crushed herbs, red berries and violets lead to delicious, sappy and mouth coating flavors that are quite powerful, all wrapped in a structured and hugely long finish. There are buckets of dry extract here that confer a velvety textured to the intense finish. Excellent potential here and worth a close look. Burghound.com

Out of 375 a little flabby very ripe rustic after a couple days open filled in a little but does not show grand cru quality to me. I have had better village wines . Maybe I had a bad bottle? I hope so!

Lots of power. Layered and complex. The ‘05s are starting to come around. Delicious.
