The powerful, strong 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Howell Mountain may turn out to be richer and fuller than either the 2001 or 2002, an atypical scenario. Its dense blue/purple color is followed by a big, rich nose of cassis, blueberries, minerals, and flowers. Rich, full-bodied, and powerfully tannic, it is classic Dunn stuff. Robert Parker

Not the strongest Dunn I've had, but damn these wines are good. Brutal upon opening but rounded out beautifully with a decant. Soft fruit and right maturity. One of the Napa producers I love most.

The 2003 has lovely cedar, fruits of the forest, red currant and still lots of tannin. I recommend holding a while longer, but can't wait to have this one with veal chops tonight!
