Drinkward Peschon "Entre Deux Mères" Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2013

This is fabulous wine and the best yet from the two women that make up Drinkward Peschon – Francoise Peschon and Lisa Drinkward. I would consider 2013 as one of the most perfect vintages they have dealt with and both of them have considerable experience. Francoise worked at Araujo for many years, and Lisa is the wife of Les Behrens with experience of many vintages at Behrens & Hitchcock... 741 cases... An absolutely spectacular bouquet of licorice, forest floor, allspice, blackcurrant and blackberry, a touch of chocolate and subtle oak is followed by a full-bodied wine that is layered, rich and intense. It has incredible equilibrium, superb purity and a finish of close to 45+ seconds... This fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon has at least 30 years of upside aging potential. Robert Parker

Fantastic showing tonight. Kept getting better and better -- typical 2013. Big dark fruit, tobacco, vibrant mouthfeel. Not the most depth / penetration on the back palette / finish. But really lovely.

Early Mother's Day wine. As always, good structure and balance with classic Napa cab fruit.

Absolutely lovely. Feels like a Haut Medoc Bordeaux.

First of all, too young. Explosive, spicy, chocolate, lilac, cassis and definitely on the Purp side of what I enjoy. Still a balancing acidity and formidable tannins that sneak up on you like a Barolo and end up hitting you square in the face and saying "don't you dare, you smug SOB". This is going to be my favorite wine in a decade or two and I'm going to wish I bought more.

Big fruit and loose leaf tea aroma pours out of the glass. Tropical hints. On the palette: pure, dark fruit. Some white pepper. Drinking great now and will improve with a little time. Love this wine.
