Dow's Vintage Porto Port Blend 2000

$69.99

I under-estimated this Dow when it was first released. It has a deeper in colour than the Fonseca, the Dow 2000 has a lifted nose with fruitcake, damson, black plum, a touch of nail varnish and apricots. The more that you inhale its perfume the more complex it seems. The palate is full-bodied, quite spicy on the entry but very austere in the middle. Firm tannins, robust, a touch of dryness towards the earthy finish. Nice persistency on the finish, those peppery motes flittering about the mouth. Drink 2020-2050+ Neal Martin - Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Annual guys WTF Christmas party with spouses. Lots of great wine. I’ll post my highlights with pics I got. A rich and decadent night cap to a wonderful evening. Raisins, dark chocolate dipped blueberries and blackberries, fig, and cassis coat the glass. Molasses like texture on the palate with licorice, oven baked blackberry pie, baking spices and a touch of heat toward the finish.

Terrific port drinking at a beautiful place now. Deep fruit and endless finish. Wish I had more.

Perfect nightcap for our anniversary weekend. Deep ruby red with high intensity and this completely coats the glass. Rich and potent nose with notes of dark chocolate, figs, dark spices and black fruits. Medium plus bodied with a strong attack and finish coated in molasses, figs, black raspberry syrup and tons of black fruits. Super rich, sweet and soft mid-palate. Super long and never-ending finish. Eager to see what happens before the bottle is finished, hopefully the mid palate beefs up a bit. Drink till 2031.

Garnet w/ brown hues. Black fruit - bing cherry with medicinal undertones. Medium finish. I think these are peaking now.

Looks like maple syrup. Tastes like blackberry and oak. I also taste some cinnamon. Amazing.

I'm a sucker for port, so for what it's worth, very mellow nose , impressive dark grape, jolly rancher grape nose. Mouth - sweet as expected, good fire, solid black fruits, an alcoholic fueled mouthfeel but mitigated by the sugar . Like I said, I'm a sucker for port. Like this stuff.
