Doubleback Walla Walla Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

...Full-bodied, beautifully textured, concentrated and rich, with high, yet sweet tannin, it offers up notions of cassis, cedar, cherry blossom and lead pencil shavings in its pure, sexy personality. Given the texture and concentration, it should drink reasonably well on release, yet evolve for two decades. Robert Parker's Wine Advocate

Vanilla and anise on the nose. On the palate, a very focused blackberry with great bones. Smooth tannins brings you back for more. Obviously meant for instant gratification than for long-term aging.

That day I rated it 8.6-8.8. Dark cherries, full body and better than freemark abbey cabernet Bosch 2012. But it has too much cherry flavor. Needs more complexity. $95. Dec 2016

A fabulous surprise in a bottle from Walla Walla. My boyfriend bought this on a whim and we opened the first of the bottles tonight. Decanted for about an hour and..... What a delight of a cab! Gorgeous, deep color.... Luscious fruit on the nose... Topped only by a complex mouthful of blackberry, earth and a touch of spice. Took me a while to sip through my glass as the enjoyable finish lingered!!!

We closed on our 2nd and hopefully "long-term" raise our our children house today - so we celebrate. This wine is a strong effort in spades! Brilliant purple hue. A punch to the noise out of the gates. A taste of mixed berries that won't quit. Not overly oaky which I appreciate. Probably has the stuffing to go a few more years at least.

Great nose of tobacco, mineral, and dark cherry. Still a bit tannic, but approachable after an hour.

Loads of blackberries, boysenberries and a hint of anise on the nose. The palate is rich with dark fruits.

Decanting worked wonders on this wine! In prior tastings, I was underwhelmed because the tannins were so abrasive. By giving it just a little bit of air, the lush fruits shined - blackberries, blueberries, mixed with crushed violets. YUM.
