The 1993 Clos de la Roche is medium-to-dark ruby-colored with hints of amber on the edge of the glass. Its initially kinky, slightly barnyard-like aromas blew off quickly to display loads of spicy cedar scents. Medium-to-full-bodied, this earth, stone, black fruit-laden wine is well-concentrated and dense. It possesses its vintage's firm, dry, tannic backbone but has the potential to have the depth of fruit to overcome this trait with age. Robert Parker Wine Advocate
