Domaine Henri Gouges Clos des Porrets St. Georges Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

$84.95

Ruby-red. Tighter, high-pitched aromas of black raspberry, spices and flowers. Dominated today by its spine but this tactile wine is stuffed with material and is surprisingly easy to taste today. Quite sturdy on the back end but with very good black peppery lift. The tannins are firm but broad and sweet... Stephen Tanzer, Vinous Media

Real deal. Very youthful but still drinking quite well. Nose of black and red fruits, violets, fresh blackberries, woodsy notes, with just enough of that nuit St George savory note. On the palate, rich core of black wild berries and red cherries with more florality than you would spect from NSG. Opened up a ton over a couple of hours, but feels like it will turn spectacular in 5 years
