Domaine François Raveneau Butteaux Chablis 1er Cru Chardonnay 2013

$349

...comprised of mineral reduction, floral, pear and iodine scents. The palate impression is one of bigger, richer and more muscular flavors that also provide a lovely touch of stoniness on the solidly lingering finish that also displays a hint of warmth. As it usually is, this is a bit more structured with enough dry extract to allow this to be enjoyed young too. Burghound.com

A typical tale of Raveneau. Best after 3 hours in the decanter. I really do love Raveneau’s 13’s. It’s an early drinking vintage (by Raveneau standards) while you wait for the surrounding ones. There’s immense richness and depth of waxy yellow fruit and stony minerals on the palate with créme fraîche, spices and a touch of botrytis influenced saffron in its layered aromatics. Superb cut and racy lemony acids provide a seamless balance to its power and richness. No surprise, beautiful wine.

Very pretty. Initially some tropical notes. Settled into gorgeous lifted lemon fruit, subtle salinity and cool stone. Really poised and subtle- very Raveneau. Long and pretty.

Slightly tropical. Lychee, lime, limestone. Very pure and intense and light. Really delicious.

Very bright and fruity. Almost exotic for Raveneau: greengage, lime, salinity, stones. Really engaging and delicious

Delicate lime and lemon oil on the nose. Salinity and an oyster note. Fresh and bright. Very good.

Maybe not the best bottle. A bit singular and monolithic, or perhaps monochromatic. A little less acid and more richness than expected at this moment. Still tasty.

First of 2, the other is going down for a bit, but not too long. Seriously amazing, lemon, stones, salinity, didn't want it to end, and it didn't. Long, lasted on the palate for an hour after the bottle was gone. As good as it gets from Butteaux.

Round without any faults. Crisp and delicious for some cruciferous lunch pairings

Bright lime and steely brightness. So refreshing and gorgeous with great clarity. Really fun. Not hugely long
